Ph.D. Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour I

I am a first year PhD student in the Evo-Health Lab. I completed undergraduate degrees in psychology, English literature, and education at York University in Toronto. My research interests include examining the role of sadness and depression in the creation of literature and exploring, from an evolutionary standpoint, why the production and consumption of fictional stories is such an important component of our lives.

This year, I am working on a study about writing, rumination, and problem solving with Alan, a meta-analysis of the research on antidepressants and mortality, and a paper evaluating the psychometric properties of a mood questionnaire developed by Dr. Andrews. I'm excited to be a part of a lab with such diverse interests and experiences and a supervisor that values the unique research interests of his students.
