Undergraduate Research Assistant
B.Sc. Biochemistry III

I joined Dr. Andrews' lab the summer after my second year of studies in Biochemistry. During this time I assisted in collecting and analyzing data from available literature for various research projects. Unlike many others in the field, my interest and background in mental health is less focused on the psychological aspects of mood and behaviour, and more the biological and biochemical details. I am passionately curious about the physiological mechanisms that allow incredibly complex behaviours to arise from the individual neurons and associated cells within the brain. More specifically, how an abnormal (depressed, obsessive-compulsive, demented) brain contrasts a normal brain on a physiological level. Currently, I volunteer in the lab as an assistant, and handle various research projects throughout the year.
